Chainmail necklace

Posted September 4, 2013, at 16:07 · Subject: Jewelry, Necklaces

Chainmail necklace

As with a lot of things on my page, this is a first attempt at something I hadn’t tried before, which is chainmail. I’ve seen a lot of this sort of jewelry, both large and small. I wanted to start with something small, but this still has several hundred pieces fitted together. The glass dagger drop beads are metallic irridescent on one side, and black on the other, making the necklace reversible.

Dark Victorian

Steampunk hat

This is a full size hat (although completely round), measuring about 54 cm (21,2 inches) in circumference at the narrowest. It’s the first hat I’ve ever made, and it was a birthday present to SilverSerpent’s Maria, showing it off here: My first hats

Personally, I think it looks awesome with her steampunk outfit. ^^

The hat is made from scratch, from my own patterns, as is a lot of the decor.

Tea in the Red Queen’s garden

Tea with the Red Queen

Another one of my rattle bracelets, to be worn once around the neck or twice around the wrist. This isn’t the first bracelet I’ve made in black and red, but it is the first that hasn’t been a commission. It’s inspired by the garden of the Red Queen in Alice in Wonderland, hence the name, and consists of glass beads and crystals ranging from 2.7 to 8 mm in size.

Custom creation: Mithril and starlight

Posted November 9, 2012, at 18:41 · Subject: Necklaces

Mithril and starlight

I was asked to do a necklace in silver and white, and with glittering details, so I made this: A light silver-colored chain in three layers, with glass beads and crystals in both clear, white and silver, ranging from 3 to 10 mm in size. The necklace measures 40 cm from the clasp to the pendant, and the pendant about 8.5 cm.

Custom creation: Delirium

Delirium necklaceDelirium bracelet

Granted, this is custom made for me, but custom made all the same. I love colors, so this piece has beads and crystals in all the colors of the rainbow. It also features seven pendants, all of which have certain meaning to me.

It was named something completely different from the beginning, but ended up as Delirium instead – named after Neil Gaiman’s Sandman character.

Custom creation: Vampire Night

Vampire Night necklaceVampire Night bracelet

This was made for a friend, who wanted a bracelet in black, red and silver, and with the pendants featured. Like me, she’s a big vampire fan, so I wanted this to give the impression of drops of blood on a starry night.

My first hats!

Posted October 24, 2012, at 18:55 · Subject: Hats

I just have to show off the first two hats I’ve ever made – from scratch, I might add (with many thanks to Sofia for the tips on how to shape them). These are not hats I’ve bought and decorated, they are handmade from my own design and patterns, as is most of the decor.

The bigger one was made as a birthday present to SilverSerpent’s own Maria, who did a great job of incorporating it into her steampunk outfit. Anyone who attended Kontrast – Swecon 2012 in Uppsala surely remembers it.

The other one I made smaller, and with a more modest decor, but then again, it was intended for a more modest outfit, namely the sort of victorian one I wore on the first day of Kontrast.

Dragons

Dragon necklaceDragon bracelet

The idea for this bracelet/necklace formed when I first saw dragon veins agate, and fell in love with it. In the pictures, you’ll recognize it as the slightly misty beads with darker veins. Dragon veins agate comes in many colors, but I chose purple, silver and black for this piece.

Apart from the dragon veins agate, this has glass beads and crystals in purple, clear, black and silver, along with three dragon shaped pendants. The beads range in size from 2.7 to 8 mm.

Winter

Posted October 21, 2012, at 22:16 · Subject: Bracelets, Necklaces

Winter necklaceWinter bracelet

This I made last winter, inspired by the snow, ice and rimfrost (we had a lot of all three). Given that we just got 5 cm of snow, I guess it’s time to start wearing it again.

The bracelet/necklace has five pendants in the shapes of snowflakes, and glass beads and crystals in white, clear, silver and different shades of blue. The beads range in size from 2.7 to 8 mm in diameter.

Japanese cherry

Japanese cherry necklaceJapanese cherry

Another one of my combined bracelets/necklaces that I made this summer, inspired by the Japanese cherry tree. This is for all intents and purposes meant to be a spring and summer piece of jewelry, so it feels just a bit wrong to be posting it in October, but on second thought, pink is a color you can wear all year round.

This piece features five silver colored metal pendants, and glass beads and crystals in pink, white, clear, brown and green. The pearls range in size from 2.7 mm to 10 mm in diameter.
